Lower Uretara River

This is a separate project area, extending from Henry Road ford (upstream of Highfields) to the estuary.  This portion of the catchment is deeply embedded in the long history of Katikati and the place where most locals interact with our river, from long strolls along the Haiku and Yeoman walkways to fishing for whitebait.

Uretara stream banks are soft and very easily eroded during floods.
