Pest Control

Pest control is gaining momentum in town through Predator Free Katikati and we welcome additions to the growing network. Most volunteers are using traps in town, provided free through Predator Free Katikati, but bait stations are used around the estuary margin and refilled about once per week on average.

There are also many sites in the catchment that would benefit from predator control and pest monitoring. Easily accessed bush remnants in upper catchment areas are a priority
